Magnesium, lights-out habits, and what we leave out of Sleep Stack on purpose.
When Marcus was still coaching in South Austin, the same pattern showed up every season: strong training plans, shaky evenings. Clients would crush a morning session, stack caffeine through the afternoon, then stare at a phone in bed and wonder why recovery felt off. Sleep is where a lot of the quiet work happens — and it is also where supplement labels tend to get loudest.
We built Sleep Stack around a short list we could defend. Magnesium (as threonate and bisglycinate forms we actually dose on the label), L-theanine, and apigenin. No proprietary blend hiding milligrams. No mega-dose melatonin that leaves you foggy the next day. No “sleep hormone cocktail” marketing. If an ingredient did not earn a clear role in a nighttime routine, it stayed off the formula.
What we leave out matters as much as what we put in. High-dose melatonin is popular because it sounds decisive. For many people it is the wrong tool for every night of the week. We also skip sedating herb stacks that read like a pharmacy aisle. The goal is a calm wind-down you can repeat — not a knockout punch you need a weekend to recover from.
A simple night stack is bigger than a bottle. Dim the overheads an hour before bed. Park the laptop outside the bedroom if you can. Keep caffeine earlier in the day — afternoon espresso is a common reason evenings feel “wired but tired.” If you use Sleep Stack, take it with the same consistency you would bring to a training schedule: same window, same routine, same expectations. Supplements support habits; they do not replace them.
How we think about timing: give yourself 30–60 minutes before lights out. Pair the capsule with something boring and physical — stretching, a short walk around the block, packing tomorrow’s bag. Blue light and doomscrolling work against the stack. So does chasing a perfect night. Good sleep hygiene is mostly about removing friction, not adding rituals.
Who this is for: people who already treat sleep like part of performance — athletes, founders, parents who protect a bedtime. Who it is not for: anyone looking for a medical sleep aid, or anyone who wants us to promise eight uninterrupted hours. We will not. Labels stay modest on purpose.
Every Sleep Stack lot still posts a third-party certificate of analysis. Identity, purity, and the amounts on the panel — the same rule we started with in 2018. If you want the paperwork before you buy, ask support for the current lot COA. We would rather lose a sale than hide a sheet.
Start simple. Fix the lights and the caffeine window. Add magnesium-forward support if it fits your routine. Leave the kitchen-sink blends on the shelf. That is the night stack we would recommend to a client in the gym — and the one we still ship from Austin.
